Charity around the City

This year has been difficult for many reasons, not the least of which is that getting together, as Masons, is not permitted during COVID-19. However, charity runs deep in our spirits as Masons, and the members of Brant Lodge No. 663 stepped up and did some good work this December in support of a few local charities.

The volounteer team consisting of Peter, Erik, Sandrin, Jason, Ethan, Chris, Trevor, Reg & Matt went to work! First of all, we raised $2000 in cash donations, as well as 370 pounds of non-perishable food items for the Burlington Food Bank (https://www.burlingtonfoodbank.ca/).

Next, the volunteer team made several trips to members and friends houses to pick up a few truck loads of bottles and cans to donate to Animal Adoptions of Flamborough, in addition to a $250 cash donation made by Brant Lodge. (https://anadoptflam.com/)

Finally, we collected $350 in cash donations for the Mountsburg Raptor Centre (https://conservationhalton.ca/mountsbergraptorcentre).

Congratulations to all the volounteers that helped us collect, process and deliver these donations in-kind and cash donations – we did our small part to make things a little better for some families, and furry/feathered friends this holiday season.

In case the Lodge isn’t in contact before people enjoy some holiday family time together, be well, stay safe and if you have a little extra this season, please consider supporting any of the charities we mentioned above.

Also, raise a toast To Absent Brethren, Wherever They May Be!
