The 2018 Christmas Party was hosted at Tyandaga Golf Course, with an excellent prime rib dinner prepared by Toni Burch and his catering team. This year Brant Lodge has done an exceptional job collecting in-kind donations for Halton Womens Place, with two mini-vans full of items to be delivered this week to the Burlington location.
Ann Prawl, the Treasurer on the Halton Womens Place board of Directors, was our special guest for the evening, and gave a short talk outlining the services that HWP provides to abused women in their hour of need. W. Bro. Reg Meecham introduced Ann to all present, and kicked off the evening’s festivities.
Later in the program W. Bro. Matthew Maennling said a few words related to Brant Lodge’s donations and said Grace before recounting some highlights from “10 years ago at Brant Lodge” including:
- 2008 W. Bro. Lee Collins was the Worshipful Master of Brant Lodge
- Bro. Ted Smith (deceased) raised to the 3rd degree November 2008
- Bro. Myron Michaels raised to the third degree December 2008
The meal was an excellent selection of four salads, sautéed mixed vegetables, roast potatoes, BBQ chicken, and thick prime rib beef with au jus and horseradish. For those who had some room left, a Tiramisu style cake was served with coffee.
Bro. Chris Soper, who organized all of the in-kind donations to Halton Womens Place, and who presided over the evening’s social event, lead the Brethren in the Junior Warden’s toast and thanked everyone for their generosity.
Great job, Brant Lodge! Now, let’s fill the room on December 17th when we initiate Mr. Paul Bonham to Freemasonry according to Ancient custom.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
