Annual drive for donations – Halton Womens Place

Brethren,

It’s the time of the year to dig deep, and commit some of your time, effort and resources to support Halton Womens Place. This womens shelter supports Burlington, Oakville and Milton (Halton area) women in crisis, who often have to leave dangerous or abusive homes on a moment’s notice to seek safety.

Halton Womens Place is a charity with an excellent staff of dedicated individuals trained to provide women support in their hour of need. We have filled several mini-vans with donation items over the past few years, and this year should be no exception!

Bring in-kind donations to the Brant Lodge Christmas Party on December 9 at Tyandaga Golf Course, or see to it that an officer of the lodge receives your donations directly. Remember only new items can be used at the shelter, and they will happily accept any direct financial donations at their website.

If you’re stuck for ideas, here is a pick list of items that are in constant need at the shelter:

And, finally, if you want to support a business that also supports the shelter, the Burlington Costco is a significant donor – get a second cart next time you are shopping there, and let the cashier know we proudly support Halton Womens’ Place.
