It is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to W. Bro. C.B. “Jimmy” Lawless. He was a friend and mentor to the members of Brant Lodge No. 663 but also held very senior offices in Barbados.
Robert E. Weeks, the District Grand Secretary for District Grand Lodge of Barbados quotes:
“It is with regret that I advise of the passing to the GLA of W Bro C B “Jimmy” Lawless, PSGD, PDDGM, PGStB yesterday in Canada. The funeral will take place in Canada at a time to be advised later. Please remember his family in your devotions especially at this time.
As a consequence of his passing, all lodges and chapters within the District will observe one (1) month of mourning. Bro Jimmy as he was affectionately called, served with distinction his several lodges and chapters. May he rest in peace.”
Earlier in the Summer we posted a photo of Jim holding his book of memoirs, that captures his interesting life story in an engaging and quick-witted style that we will all remember fondly. He was fluent in the Emulation Ritual in the G.L.C.P.O.O Constitution, Scottish Constitution and English Constitution, was a Knight Templar and amazed everyone with his Masonic writings and instant recall.
We will cherish his memory in our hearts.
