The Brethren of Brant Lodge No. 663 assembled on Monday October 21, 2013 for the purpose of conducting the October Regular Meeting. W.Bro. Eric Marshall called the Brethren from Labour to Refreshment in order to make a public presentation of a shadow box, in which the Grand Lodge Regalia of R.W. Bro. Harold G. Lowry, Grand Chaplain 1972 (and a Charter Member of Brant Lodge No. 663) was mounted for posterity. R.W.Bro. Lowry’s daughter Gwen Gayfor, and grandson Steven Gayfor were present for the celebration, and the Brethren welcomed them with warmth and with Ceremony. In a touching testimonial, Gwen expressed her appreciation for keeping the memory of Harold alive, and noted that the shadow box mounting was very much to her liking.
After the Business Meeting was concluded, Lodge was opened in the Second and then Third Degree and Bro. Robert Hegedus was Raised to the Third Degree according to Ancient Custom. The degree team performed admirably under the direction of W.Bro. Marshall and Bro. Hegedus was impressed by the solemnity of the occasion and the quality of the Work. Special thanks to Bro. Ken Frankum from Burlington Lodge No. 165 for having stepped in on short notice to be our substitute Junior Deacon, serving with Diligence and Fidelity. After Lodge was closed in the three Degrees, the members of Brant Lodge and visitors retired to the Banquet Hall for sandwiches, fruit, desserts and beverages – sharing stories from around the District and enjoying Fellowship among friends.
