On October 15, 2022, the Brethren of Burlington Lodge No. 165 and Brant Lodge No. 663 became “Burlingon Reunion Lodge No. 165” under the watchful eye of the Grand Master of of the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Canada in the Province of Ontario.
After our Director of Ceremonies Presented the Grand Master, Deputy Grand Master and District Deputy Grand Master of Hamilton District A, the Grand Director of Ceremonies Introduced the rest of the Grand Lodge officers who visited the lodge for the evening. The Grand Master took the gavel and conducted the Ceremony of Amalgamation, according to ancient custom, including a ballot for the slate of officers proposed for the new lodge. Following the Ceremony, the Grand Master handed the gavel to the Installing Master, W. Bro. Matthew Maennling, to call the Brethren from Labour to Refreshment.
Several photos were taken, including all visitors, members and Grand Lodge Officers, and then everyone retired to the Banquet room for an excellent meal and some traditional Toasts. The Grand Master responded to the Toast to Grand Lodge, and he delivered an interesting historical retrospective of the two lodges and how they have come together as the new Lodge.
When dinner was complete, the evening resumed with the Installation of the Worshipful Master and Investiture of the Officers of Burlington Reunion Lodge No. 165. When the work of the evening was complete, W. Bro. Trevor Shea continued as Worshipful Master of the new Burlington Reunion Lodge No. 165, and W. Bro. Paul Ross was invested as the Immediate Past Master.
To the delight of the Brethren who stayed for fellowship, several desserts and single malts were available to enjoy, while the Brethren regaled the stories of the evening and rejoiced in the excitement of forming a new lodge.
