The Brethren of Brant Lodge No. 663 A.F. & A.M. welcomed R. W. Bro. Michael Kirk for his official visit as District Deputy Grand Master of Hamilton District A. After conducting the business meeting, W. Bro. Eric Marshall directed the J.W. to call off so that a delicious banquet featuring slow roasted strip loin beef with au jus sauce could be enjoyed by the members and visitors present. Three students from Hillfield Strathallan served and assisted with duties in the kitchen, and were given a standing ovation for their efforts alongside Bro. Meecham, the chef and host for the evening.
R. W. Bro. Kirk was welcomed under the wands and received Grand Honours, directed by W. Bro. Lee Collins and followed with enthusiasm by the Brethren present.
The education of the evening was the F.C. degree conferred upon our candidate, whose progress in Masonry has been excellent thus far. The work and lectures were delivered expertly by a diverse degree team, and over 75 were in attendance for the meeting. Needless to say, the feeling of Fellowship in the Lodge room was palpable with such a wonderful turnout!
It was, as W. Bro. Marshall quotes, a “…fantastic night for the official visit of the DDGM. 71 men signed the register. 13/14 lodges in the district were represented. A fantastic meal was served and the lodge was closed to commence fellowship by 9pm. Thank you to everyone who attended and participated!”
