Christmas Dinner 2010

Our December regular meeting was a short one, per tradition, so that the Brethren could retire to a local restaurant for Christmas Dinner. The business of the meeting was abbreviated, and there were two applicants for whom we conducted a ballot. The ballots were favourable to the applicants, so Brant Lodge will be welcoming two new members likely in the February regular meeting. The final item on the meeting agenda was to present our Junior Deacon with his Master Mason Certificate that will enable him to travel to England in 2011 and attend lodge while he is visiting.

The dinner at The Big Tomato was excellent! Soup and salads served after bruschetta, then entrees of veal, salmon, penne or chicken. Some of the members enjoyed a glass of wine, and the desserts looked delicious, too.

The raffle for the evening brought in some revenue for the Junior Warden’s fund, and three nice prizes were handed out: $50 gift card for the Future Shop, $50 voucher for Alexanian Flooring and a Crown Royal gift set. Members were given the choice of selecting stuffed animals for any children, grandchildren or nieces/nephews, and 30 more stuffed animals were packaged and will be donated to a local hospital childrens’ ward.

A fine time was had by all! Happy Holidays to all members, their wives and their families – see you in the New Year!
