The Brethren of Brant Lodge No. 663 welcomed their newest member, Bro. Chris Soper, during the May 2013 Regular meeting.
W.Bro. Matthew Maennling opened Lodge to conduct the business of the evening, and then called off in the 1st degree in order to present two Lewis Jewels. First to Bro. Casey Scott, who was presented the Lewis Jewel from R.W. Bro. Allan Quainton, DDGM of Hamilton District A with his father, Bro. Wilfred Scott at his side. Next, the Brethren welcomed the family of Bro. Reg Meecham into Lodge to witness his Lewis Jewel presentation, with his son at his side. Bro. Meecham had both a father and grandfather who were Masons, and it was wonderful to share in the unbroken bond of Masonic tradition in his family.
Bro. Chris Soper was Initiated according to Ancient custom, and in attendance for the evening was his Brother, Bro. Sean Soper. Bro. Sean Soper attends Lodge in St. Catharines, ON, and it was fun to have two forms of Brotherhood apply to Bro. Chris Soper’s Initiation into Masonry. Congratulations, Chris, on being a fine candidate and our newest member.
The Brethren enjoyed nachos and pulled pork after Lodge, including some beverages and Fellowship in the banquet hall. It was an evening of good Work, Fellowship and celebration for all who attended.
