W. Bro. Russ Dean achieved two significant milestones at Brant Lodge – 60 years a Mason, and 50 years a Past Master. The April Regular meeting was a tribute to W. Bro. Dean, attended by R.W. Bro. Roy Oldfield, District Deputy Grand Master of Hamilton District A.
W. Bro. Shea and R. W. Bro. Oldfield presented Russ with his long service pins with his spouse in attendance, followed by some stories and reflections from Russ to the Brethren in attendance.
The banquet hour featured catering and a delicious meal, along with traditional toasts and several testimonial toasts in honour of Russ and his service to Brant Lodge. Lady Jane spoke about his commitment to the Craft in general, and the resultant positive impact it has had on his life. Russ gave a heartfelt retrospective of Brant Lodge over the years, and his experience as a member, and Past Master. After raising a glass in his honour, the Brethren sang “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow” and applauded Russ to round out the evening with the Senior and Junior Wardens’ toasts.
Congratulations, Russ, on your long service to Freemasonry in general, and Brant Lodge No. 663 in particular!
