With our Worshipful Master away on business, it was an honour for the members of Brant Lodge No. 663 to have R. W. Bro. John Pollock preside over the March regular meeting, sitting in the chair of King Solomon for the first time in 20 years. Showing no signs of rust, he ran an excellent meeting and degree, noting that on the same evening 33 years ago, he was initiated into Masonry – a fitting coincidence giving extra meaning to our evening.
Bro. Jose Blanco proved his proficiency to the entire satisfaction of the members present, and R. W. Bro. Pollock then ran the degree according to Ancient custom. The degree team featured several substitutions, and our younger members took on the challenge, delivering parts on behalf of absent Brethren. Later in the ceremony, R. W. Bro. Pollock met Bro. Cem Celen on the level to present him with his Grand Lodge certificate, explaining the significance of that certificate and congratulating him along with members present.
After a successful degree, R. W. Bro, Pollock closed the Lodge in harmony, and everyone retired to the banquet hall for chicken chili, buns and refreshments.
Congratulations, Bro. Jose Blanco, on being passed to the second degree of Freemasonry!
