The October Regular meeting of Brant Lodge No. 663 was a busy one, beginning with the resignation, after 16 years, of our Treasurer, W. Bro. Bruno Schobel. Bruno served Brant Lodge with Fidelity and was applauded by the Brethren present, after which a ballot was conducted to elect a new Treasurer. Bro. David Stott was the winner and declared Treasurer-Elect. W. Bro. Schobel was appointed Chaplain in place of Bro. Stott.
The Treasurer, Senior Deacon (held over from September) and Chaplain were all invested with the collars and jewels of office before the work of the evening turned to degree work. Bro. Celen proved his proficiency to the appreciation and satisfaction of all present, and the FC degree was conferred in Ancient form.
W. Bro. Willard Price was then presented with a 70 year service pin and certificate by W. Bro. Matthew Maennling and the District Deputy Grand Master, R. W. Bro. R. Larry Hinkley with Willard’s brother and son in attendance. The presentation was moving, and when the W. M. told W. Bro. Price that he looks forward to presenting him with his 80 year service pin, W. Bro. Price responded “only if you live that long!”, to the amusement and appreciation of the Brethren present.
The Brethren then retired to the banquet hall to enjoy slow cooked pulled chicken, and beef barbacoa, beverages and good social mirth.
Congratulations, Bro. Celen on becoming Hamilton District A’s newest Fellowcraft, and to you, W. Bro. Price on achieving 70 years of Masonic service to the fraternity and to Brant Lodge No. 663!
