On May 7, 2016 Brant Lodge initiated two new members, Bros. Coulter and Bartel, in an Emergent Meeting. The double E.A. degree was delivered to a high standard and attracted a solid turnout of 30 Masons. After the degree, a lively table lodge was held, in which the members and some guests enjoyed Indian food catering. The Brethren learned some of the traditions of the US and English table lodge ceremonies, including “charging the cannons” and enjoying toasts of a traditional nature.
Most importantly, our S.D., I.P.M. and Junior Warden did a superb job collecting donations for Aurora Borealis Lodge No. 201 in Fort McMurray Alberta, where the recent forest fires had burned three Masons’ houses to the ground. Nothing reinforces the Charity Lecture like immediate action, and so our new members learned the spirit and generosity of Brant Lodge by making their contributions as well.
Congratulations, Bros. Coulter and Bartel on becoming Brant Lodge’s newest members, and thank you to all who participated in the evening and contributed to our Brethren in Alberta.
